Time When Blackpink Members Looked Gorgeous In Traditional Korean Outfits https://ift.tt/FGnE65X
BLACKPINK wore hanbok-inspired attire. Hanbok literally translates to “Korean garment” and is a type of traditional Korean dress worn today, mostly for semi-formal or formal apparel for traditional occasions such as festivals, weddings, special events, and so on. Hanbok, in general, refers to the attire worn during the Joseon dynasty. Both men and women wear hanbok, although their hanbok pieces are distinct.
BLACKPINK wore reimagined Korean attire by Danha for their music video. The members could dance while wearing modified and redesigned hanbok thanks to the clothing lines’ provision of these items while maintaining the traditional elements of hanbok.
The genuine piece of clothing is Jennie’s pink jacket with a floral lining. The dope, an outer robe worn by intellectuals during the Joseon Dynasty, served as inspiration for its style. The designer claimed that the designs on the wrapping paper used by the royal court of the Joseon Dynasty served as her inspiration. Rose’s attire was modeled after both the garb used by women during the Joseon Dynasty and that worn by soldiers.
Visit Danha’s website to get your own BLACKPINK-inspired hanbok outfits. Although the clothing may be out of most K-pop lovers’ price ranges, you can pay homage to this lovely nation and its rich culture by incorporating smaller pieces into your wardrobe, such as scarves in traditional motifs.
The elegant and traditional clothing of Korea, known as hanbok, was not previously widely known outside of Korea, but now that major K-pop artists like BLACKPINK are performing in them, more people are becoming aware of them. Other K-pop groups, including B.T.S., A.C.E., and others, have also sported traditional garb in their videos, drawing viewers’ attention to the clothes’ stunning hues and patterns.
Fortunately, traditional components infused with K-pop are introducing Korea’s distinct traditions and cultural history to admirers all over the world. Check out the music video here to see how the hanbok-inspired attire is included at the very end!
